Brian O'Kane

Brian O’Kane is the visionary President and CEO of the O’Kane Group of Companies and Klarke Investments, managing an extensive portfolio that includes multifamily homes, commercial centers, office buildings, and industrial facilities. With over two decades of expertise in financial strategy and real estate development, he has significantly impacted Calgary’s property landscape.

In 2002, Brian launched several property development and general contracting firms, pivotal in transforming Calgary’s urban fabric. These enterprises are renowned for revitalizing existing buildings and initiating groundbreaking new projects, underlining their commitment to innovation in real estate development. His role as President of Vectus from 2011 to 2015 saw him leading numerous key developments that have contributed to the city's dynamic growth.

Before his real estate ventures, Brian was CEO of an oilfield equipment manufacturer. There, he implemented aggressive expansion strategies that increased the company’s operations sevenfold in five years, culminating in a successful sale to a prominent U.S. firm in 2001.

CEO, Capitan Overlay Technologies: Under Brian's leadership, the company achieved significant growth, eventually leading to Triton's acquisition.

Vice President and CFO, Flotek Industries: He played a crucial role in the company’s expansion, including developing innovative Petrovalve technology that enhanced operational efficiencies in the oil and gas industry.

Controller, Cassola Management: Brian managed the financial operations of a conglomerate with interests in construction, property development, and manufacturing.

State Finance Manager, Salmat Group: He oversaw the financial management of the company's operations in New South Wales, streamlining processes and enhancing profitability.

Brian was born in Toronto, Canada, and moved to Sydney, Australia, at age seven. He grew up in the suburb of St. Ives. He returned to Canada in 1991 and made Calgary his home in 1996. He holds a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University and is certified as a CPA and CGA.

Brian is an enthusiastic outdoorsman who enjoys rally racing, skiing, cycling, sailing, and boating. He draws energy from Calgary’s proximity to the Canadian Rockies. His commitment to community involvement matches his love for adventure and nature.

Brian is deeply family-oriented, cherishing the moments he spends with his grandchildren. He is also an active community supporter of mental health and animal welfare initiatives, promoting pet-friendly environments based on his experiences with rescue dachshund, Benny, and two cats. His approach integrates his passion for family, community service, and environmental stewardship into every facet of his professional and personal life.
